April 18, 1944 — March 25, 2004

Sharon Lucille CONGDON, 59, of Longmont [TX] died at her home on Thursday, March 25, 2004.

Sharon was born on April 18, 1944, in Redding, Iowa, to Maynard Byron and Edith Viola (PRITCHETT) CONGDON. She grew up in southern Iowa on a family farm and moved to Lyons with her family in 1949. In 1954, the family moved to Longmont where Sharon graduated from Longmont High School in 1962.

Sharon was a bookkeeper in Colorado and California, but most recently was the main caregiver for her stepfather. She loved animals, especially horses, dogs, and wildlife and was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling and visited the Holy Land and Finland. Sharon was a gifted musician, playing the piano, organ and performing solos as well as singing in choirs.

Later she served on staff with the Mount Hermon Christian Center in Santa Cruz, Calif. She worked for three years with a Christian Missions Organization that sent missionaries to Central America. Sharon served on mission trips to Guatemala and Canada. Sharon related to people very well and shared her faith by teaching church classes, leading home bible studies, and was there to help when and where ever needed in the church and community.

Her parents preceded Sharon in death. She is survived by two sisters, Wilma Connie ROWE and her husband Ralph of Mount Hermon, Calif., and Betty VAIANI and her husband Clyde of Vacaville, Calif.; her stepfather, Leonard LOUKONEN of Longmont; four step-brothers, Ken LOUKONEN and his wife Margie of Lyons, Mike LOUKONEN and his wife Debbie of Lyons, Dean LOUKONEN and his wife Roseann of Longmont, and John LOUKONEN of Lyons; two stepsisters, Cindy LOUKONEN and Kathy LOUKONEN, both of Longmont; nieces and nephews, Jeffery and Mary Anne VAIANI of Vacaville, Calif.; David ROWE and his wife Rose of Napa, Idaho, and Stephen ROWE and his wife Tracy of Clovis, Calif.; and two great-nephews, Stephen and Gregory ROWE of Clovis, Calif. Numerous brothers and sisters in Christ in the Longmont area also survive her.
