OBITUARY - DAVID L. BEARD

David L. BEARD, 55, of Maxwell, Calif., formerly of Diagonal, died August 15, 2004, at the VA Medical Center in Sacramento, Calif.

Graveside services were held 10 a.m. Friday, August 20, in Maxwell, Calif. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Jeffery Wing, 675 Birch St., Willows, CA 95988.

Mr. BEARD, son of Viva and Emmitt BEARD, was born April 23, 1949, in Independence, Mo. He was a farm laborer and former owner of the Squaw Creek Inn in Lodoga, Calif. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his brothers, Derlin BEARD of Omaha, Neb., and Mike BEARD of Lee Summit, Mo.; sons Jeffery WING of Willows, Calif., and David LOVE of Lorimor; and nieces Darcy BEARD of Diagonal and Kerry STAPLES and Sherry McBROOM of Winterset.
