OBITUARY - MARGARET ANN "BID" (GARITY) BLAZEK

Margaret Ann "Bid" BLAZEK, 70, of rural Prescott died February 21, 2007, at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 24, at Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St. Chaplain Mary O'Riley of Creston will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Adams County. Open visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Creston. Memorials may be directed to Bohemian National Cemetery or Williamson Legion Hall. Online condolences may be left at: www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com

Margaret Ann BLAZEK, daughter of Mary Cecilia (DANT) and James Fenton GARITY, was born July 4, 1936, in Maloy. She attended country school and later her family moved to Union County where she attended Afton School. On February 3, 1961, Margaret married John Edward BLAZEK in Creston. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of the Prescott Coffee Club and former member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Williamson.

Survivors include her husband John BLAZEK of Prescott; four children, Deammie BLAZEK of Des Moines, Gary "Jake" (wife Lisa) BLAZEK and Daniel "Boone" (wife Angie) BLAZEK, all of Prescott, and Tammy (husband Mark) RYCHNOVSKY of Diagonal; five brothers, Fred (wife Elaine) GARITY of Cedar Rapids, Pat (wife Linda) GARITY of Englewood, Colo., Richard (wife Dee) GARITY and Ed (wife Sharon) GARITY, all of Indianola, and David GARITY of Corydon; six sisters, Rosemary (husband Rex) KNEEDLER of Bosque Farms, N.M., Laura (husband Bob) O'RILEY of Golden, Colo., Helen GILLEN of Belen, N.M., Martha (husband Darwin) MILLER of Creston, Agnes (husband Hal) BURTON of Hay Springs, Neb., and Teresa (husband Lonnie) REYNOLDS of Osceola; two sisters-in-law, Elaine McPHERSON of Irving, Texas, and Kim HENDERSON of Ankeny; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, mother- and father-in-law Gladys and Rudolph BLAZEK, daughter Patricia Lynn in 1970, and three brothers, Mike in infancy, Joe and Ted GARITY.
