Thursday, April 7, 2007OBITUARY - NOLA VIVIAN (UTTERBACK) BALL
Nola V. BALL, 82, of Des Moines, formerly of Creston, died March 31, 2007, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines. Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., has charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left under the obituary category at: www.powersfh.com
Nola Vivian BALL, daughter of Sylvia Mae (HOLCOMB) and George Clair UTTERBACK, was born December 3, 1924, in Diagonal. She attended Creston and Des Moines schools and graduated from Lorimor High School in 1942. On June 19, 1957, Nola married Herman BALL in Des Moines. They lived and worked in Des Moines. Nola worked as a secretary for Plain Talk Publishing, the Teamsters Union, and Blue Cross Blue Shield in Des Moines.
Survivors include a stepson, Robert BALL of California; brother Lewis (wife Nelle) UTTERBACK of Creston; sister Vada BUTTS of Burlington; sister-in-law Doreen TAYLOR of Creston; many nieces and nephews and several close friends.
Nola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman and brother Frank UTTERBACK TAYLOR.
