OBITUARY - TILLIE ADELAINE (MATHENY) CAVIN

Died, May 14, 1894, Mrs. Wm. CAVIN, aged 29 years. Mrs. CAVIN's maiden name was Tillie Adelaine MATHENY. She was born in Jones county, Iowa, July, 1864. When an infant, the family removed to Cedar county, Iowa and to the town of Mechanicsville. They remained there until Oct. 1, 1883, when with her sisters, she came to Mt. Ayr to live with her uncle and aunt. She married Wm. CAVIN in 1884. She made a profession of faith in Christ and united with the Mt. Ayr United Presbyterian church in February of 1893. She was held in high esteem in the church as a christian wife and mother. She leaves two children. The funeral took place from the U.P. church on Wednesday May 16, 1894, and was conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. T. JACKSON. [Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.]
