DEATH CLAIMS FARMER of LIBERTY TOWNSHIP

J. J. BREWINGTON, Farmer for Eighteen years in Ringgold County
Passes Away

After a lingering illness of two years' duration, John J. BREWINGTON, one of Ringgold county's highly respected citizens, died at his farm home in Liberty township Monday evening about four o'clock, at the age of 64 years, two months and 15 days. Mr. BREWINGTON has been one of Ringgold county's good farmers for eighteen years, having moved to the farm in this community in 1913. He has been active and faithful in church work and in the work of the I. O. O. F. lodge.

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Methodist church at 2:30, conducted by Rev. E. S. MENOHER and interment made in Rose Hill cemetery. Following is the obituary:

John J. BREWINGTON, son of William and Sopha BREWINGTON, was born July 6, 1867, in Henry county, Iowa, and departed this life September 21, 1931, at his home near Mount Ayr, Iowa.

He grew to manhood in Henry county, receiving his education at Harve's Academy at Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He later went to Kansas, where he taught school for a time and homesteaded land.

In 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma PRITCHARD, of Lebanon, Indiana.

He came to Ringgold county about eighteen years ago, which has since been his home. He was a charter member of the I. O. O. F. lodge at Wilcox, Neb., later transferring his membership to the Mount Ayr lodge. He began his christian life when a boy at Winfield, Iowa, and was a member of the Mount Ayr Methodist church at the time of his death and as long as he was able to attend was faithful to the services of the church.

He leaves to mourn his wife, two brothers, S. H. BREWINGTON of Denver, Colo., and Wm. BREWINGTON of St. Francis, Kan., and two sisters, Mrs. Ava COOPER of Fairfield, Iowa, and Mrs. R. C. ARNOLD, of Denver, Colo., besides a host of friends.

NOTE: Emma L. (PRITCHARD) BREWINGTON, wife of John J. BREWINGTON, was born in 1856 and died in 1952. She was interred beside her husband in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
