My ancestors came from the East Flanders area of Eremo or St Jan-in Eremo??? That is according to obituaries. Many of them did come to the Poweshiek Co., Iowa area and settled in and around Hartwick, Brooklyn, and Victor areas. My ancestors and some of the others first went to Atkinson, Illinois first. Or at least many of the ones who came to Poweshiek Co. You might want to try there. That is where my ancestor, Englebert Martens met Pauline Cornelis. I know from researching that there was other Belgiums in that area. Good Luck
