Nichols Families

NICHOLS, TUNNELL

I am looking for any descendents of the following Nichols brothers who settled in Powshiek County about 1851.
Daniel W. Nichols
Jesse B. T. Nichols
Peter Nichols
Amos Monroe Nichols

The Nichols brothers came from Knox county, Ohio and settled in the Forrest Home community of Powshiek County in 1851. Daniel and Jesse served in Company F, 10th Iowa Infantry Regiment during the Civil War and Daniel died in 1866 from wounds received in 1863. Peter is listed in the 1860 Census as a Blacksmith.
Peter Nichols later left Iowa and died in Seattle Washington in 1907. Amos left Iowa and died in Grayosn County, Texas in 1896. However, I can find no information on Jesse and the family of Daniel after his death in 1866. Any help would be appreciated.

The family of Nicholas Tunnell came to Powshiek County in aout 1854 from Morgan County, Illinois and also settled in Forrest Home area. Nicholas died April 30, 1863 and I lose his family in Iowa after that time.
