birth date of great aunt

Looking for the birth of my great aunt....Minnie Achinger...born out of wedlock in 1881 or 1882 in Malcolm, Poweshiek, Iowa. Her mother was Pauline(a) Laupitz, who eventually married Charles Achinger. All documents point to her birth in Iowa. Paulina and her parents traveled to Iowa at about that time to visit her sister Augusta Laupitz Wentzel or Wenzel in Malcolm and it is presumed that Minnie was born during that trip. I have no idea if the birth is registered or if it is what last name might be. Further information about the Wentzel/Wenzels....Augusta's husband was John (1846-1900). They had three girls: Pauline: b. 1878, d. 1917; Nellie: b. 1881, d. ?; Henrietta b. 1884, d. 1974, married to Albert Petrie.
