hello! I have recently started searching my family ancestry and have traced my grandmothers birth to Poweshiek. Her name was Leota Ardelia Ackerson, born to David Edward Ackerson, and Mae Tolgel on July 2, 1909.

That's it--I CANNOT find any information on her mother, Mae, as, for some reason my grandmother ended up being raised by her father, with Mae nowhere in sight. No record, no nothing. As it turns out, Mr. Ackerson was married to someone else at the time, and remained so until her death in 1938. My grandmothers childhood was a big, dark secret as she spoke about it with no one. Ever. All I am looking for is some information on Mae, if you could help me. That's all the information I have. Can you help? thank you so much
