ELLA MAE GRIFFITH, 70

Ella Mae Griffith, 70, of Bloomfield and formerly of Grinnell died on Wednesday, September 24, 1997 at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Mrs. Griffith was born on March 18, 1927 in Malcom to John Scott and Irma Mae Marvin Cummings. She was raised in Malcom and graduated from Malcom High School. She was married to Donald Griffith in Malcom and the couple lived in Malcom, where she was a homemaker. She moved to Grinnell in the late 1970s and she lived at Brookside South. In May of 1997, she moved to a nursing home in Bloomfield.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy Sonzalla of Golden, Colo.; two sons, Roger Griffith and Brett Griffith, both of Malcom; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one brother, Marvin Cummings of Brooklyn.

Mrs. Gifffith was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Cheryl Griffith.

Funeral services were September 26 at the Smith Funeral Home with burial in the Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom.
