JAMES B. GLASS

James B. Glass, 85, Brooklyn, died Saturday, Jan 30, 1988 at St. Francis Manor Nursing Home, Grinnell.

Born March 6, 1902 at Chelsea, he was the son of Byron J. and Ethel Mae Rohrer Glass. He attended rural schools in the Victor area until moving to Brooklyn in 1936. He had farmed all of his life. On Dec. 22, 1932 he married Grace Gray at Columbus, Neb.

Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Ross (Carole) Robey of Victor; three sons, James L. and Jerry of Brooklyn and David of Cedar Rapids. 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: his wife in 1978; one brother, Bert, and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 am Monday Feb 1 at McAninch-Fremming funeral Home in Victor. The Rev. Randy Battey, pastor of the Victor Baptist Church, officiated. Dixie Battey McAdam was vocalist. Burial was in the Victor Memorial Cemetery with Wayne Gray, Tama, Don Kriegel, Malcom, Dexter MacBride, Des Moines, Larry Newhaus, Hartwick, Don Rohrer, Victor, and Loren Roudabush, Brooklyn, serving as casket bearers.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
