SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. GRAY 1887 - 1952

Funeral rites for Mrs. John Gray were held Saturday at the Hartwick Congregational church at 2:00 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Kenneth Berg. Mrs. Laura Korns sang two selections, accompanied at the piano by Beverly Voekel. Burial was in the Hartwick cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Fritz Roth, H.H. McIlrath, Raymond Smith, Clarence Possehl, Ben Roudabush and Clement Wauters.

Grace Clara Gray, daughter of Ferdinand and Amelia J. Block, was born Oct. 11, 1887 near Harwick. She married John A. Gray Mar 22, 1905, and the couple started farming near Hartwick where they have always lived. She died Mar. 20 at the University Hospitals in Iowa City following a long illness.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Melvin of Hartwick and Warren of New Orleans, La.; a sister, Mrs. Alma Rupp, of Hartwick; two brothers, Loren and Eugene Block, of Hartwick; an aunt, Mrs. Carrie Newton of Brooklyn; four grandchildren, Darold and Glorine Gray of Hartwick and John and Audrea Gray of New Orleans, La.; and three great grandchildren, Darrie, Diane and Juanita Gray.
