OBITUARY THANKFUL E. WELLS

Thankful E. Wells was born in Jay, Essex county, New York, March 22, 1830 and died Oct 3, 1905 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Billick, aged 75 years, 6 months, and 11 days.

She was married to Mr. Enos Heath in 1846. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Sarah Woodruff and Henrietta Billick. After the death of Mr. Heath she was united in marriage to Mr. Benjamin Wells. Mr. Wells died in June 1888. Mrs. Wells has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. George Billick. She was united with the Baptist Church when quite young in New York. After moving to Iowa, there being no Baptist Church in Brooklyn, she united with the M.E. Church in Madison township, then after coming to Brooklyn she united with the Grace M.E. Church. She lived a faithful Christian, a great worker in the church when ever able to be there. Beside her daughter she leaves on sister, Mrs. Drummond, of near Davenport, three brothers, Joseph Razey, of Brooklyn, Iowa, and Henry and Alexander of Washington.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 5 at the home of her daughter and conducted by her pastor, J.E. Newsom, and she was laid to rest in the Brooklyn Cemetery.
