Obituary: Old Pioneer Called Home. Mrs. Ludeman (sic) Answers Call Sunday Morning. Died at the Home of Her Son, Charles F. LUDEMAN--Was Born in Germany.

Mrs. Elizabeth LUDEMON (sic)died at the home of her son, Charles L. LUDEMAN, four miles north of Montezuma early Sunday morning. She had been ill for some time and while death had been expected for some time, it was with a feeling of sorrow and pain that news was received of her departure from this life. Mrs. Elizabeth MEYER LUDEMAN was born in Hannover, Germany, October 19, 1840, being 69 years, 8 months and 21 days old at her death on July 10, 1910. She was married to Frederick LUDEMAN in 1864 and emigrated to America in 1865. They first settled in Wisconsin living there until 1871, when they removed to Poweshiek County, Iowa, where they have spent the remainder of their lives. Mr. LUDEMAN passed away about ten years ago and since that time, Mrs. LUDEMAN has made her home with her son, Charles F. Mrs. LUDEMAN was the mother of three children, Mrs. Anna A. McCORMICK, Fred C., and Charles F. LUDEMAN, all of whom are living and were present at her bedside at the time of her death. At the age of 14 years, Mrs. LUDEMAN became a member of the Lutheran Church, and until death, remained an ever faithful supporter and worker in this denomination. The funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. H. F. Gilbert, of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment was made in the Montezuma Cemetery. All the community extend to the bereaved children their heartfelt sympathy in their loss of a loving and kind mother, and mourn for a useful and sympathetic friend and neighbor.
