Obituary: Electa F. BARNES was born in Ohio, January 31, 1833 and departed this life May 4, 1909 at 4 p.m., at her home in Poweshiek County, Iowa, at the time of her death being 76 years, 4 months, and 4 days of age.

She moved to Iowa with her parents in 1856, living at Muscatine about one year before moving to Poweshiek County, where she has resided ever since.

She was converted at the age of sixteen and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and has lived a faithful Christian life until she was called to her home above.

She was married to Robert McCORMICK, February 6, 1866. To this union was born two sons, Charles and John, both of these are left to mourn her loss. Her companion preceded her in death, passing to a better land and home August 20, 1907. Both living a faithful and consistent Christian life until called to their reward which is a crowned life. Mrs. McCORMICK was a kind and affectionate mother and neighbor and was loved and respected by all who knew her.

The funeral services were held at the residence two miles east of Ewart, on Thursday afternoon, May 6 at 1 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. A. Hall, pastor of the Ewart M.E. Church, who took for his text, "Safe in God's Hands." A large gathering of friends were present to pay a last tribute to the departed one.
