RICHARD A. CONSIGLI

MANHATTAN - Richard A. Consigli, 79, of Manhattan, Kansas, died December 20, 2010, in Manhattan. He was born on March 2, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, and had been a longtime Manhattan resident where he was a Distinguished Professor at Kansas State University. He was married to Barbara J. (Seel) Consigli; she preceded him in death in 1989. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include three daughters: Linda Consigli-Wege and husband Brad of Manhattan, Joanne Mitchell and husband Greg of Topeka, KS and Maria Black and husband Aaron of Mt. Joy, PA. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Brett Wege, Jacob and Justin Black.

Visitation will be from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2010, at the funeral home with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2900 Kimball Avenue, Manhattan. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan. On-line condolences may be left for the family through the funeral home website located at www.ymlfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at KSU or the Good Shepherd Hospice House. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
