SERVICES TODAY

Mrs. Mary M. Torres, 78, of 703 Summer St., Grinnell, died Thursday afternoon (March 19) at Grinnell General Hospital East. She was the wife of Tony Torres and had made her home in Grinnell for over 50 years.

Mrs. Torres was the daughter of W.W. and Laura M. Kearney Seely, and was born on Oct. 4, 1891, at Excelsior Springs, Mo. Mrs. Torres was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Grinnell.

She is survived by her husband Tony; one brother; one sister; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Torres were held at 1 p.m. today (Monday) at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Luther A. May, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church, officiating.

Pallbearers included Calvin C. Barns, Carl Binegar, Warren Miller, Robert Mitchell, Gerald Phipps and Asa Talbott. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.
