HOLD MASS FOR TONY TORRES

Tony Torres, 91, of the Senior Home in Montezuma, formerly of Grinnell, died Saturday, June 27, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Harry Linnenbrink officiating. Organist was Joyce Wedlock. Pallbearers were Calvin Barns, Carl Binegar, Warren Miller, Robert Mitchell, Floyd Sharp and Charles Vogel.

Burial was in the Calvary section of Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of Eugenio V. and Bisenta Slgero? Torres, he was born April 13, 1890, at Quiroga, Michucan, Mexico. Following the Mexican Revolution, he came to Grinnell in 1917.

He was married to Mary May Seely, and the couple lived in Grinnell where Mr. Torres was employed as a shopman for Iowa Southern Utilities Co. for many years. He moved to the Senior Home in Montezuma in 1976.

Survivors include one brother and one sister, Jose and Maria Torres, both of Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary, who died in 1970; and a brother, Jesus earl Torres, who died in 1961.
