REX ROSE

Rex H. Rose, 82, of Deep River died Dec. 7 at the Senior Home, Montezuma.

He was born March 24, 1908 at Montezuma, the son of Earl F. and Alda Rinehart Rose. He attended rural schools and Guernsey High School and was graduated with the class of 1926.

On Dec. 18, 1935 Rex was united in marriage to Wilma Wilson. They farmed in the Guernsey area until moving to Deep River in 1952. Rex operated a feed store in Deep River and also drove a school bus for 20 years. Rex was a member of the Deep River Fire Department.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma, Nov. 26, 19??; a grandson, Norman Taylor, March 30, 1986 and a brother, Quentin, June 8, 1987.

Rex is survived by a daughter, Geraldine and her husband, Max Taylor, of Bossier City, La. Two grandchildren, Debra Taylor and Mark and his wife, Teresa Taylor, also a great granddaughter, Christina Taylor; five sisters, Nina Bahr of Ladora, Opal Emal of Henderson, Nev., Elsie Besse of Cincinnati, Iowa, Donna Williams of Moline, Ill., and Merna Cordes of Cedar Rapids; also a sister-in-law, Margery Rose of Deep River.

Funeral service was held Dec. 9 at Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma, with Rev. R. Carroll Johnson officiating.

Music, "Good Night and Good Morning," "The Old Rugged Cross," "Just a Closer Walk with Thee," was provided by Vrla Van Dee, organist. Casket bearers were Paul Rose, Leland Zimmerman, Floyd Cordes, Ron Emal, Lowell Wolf and Carroll Bauer with interment in Golden Rod Cemetery, Deep Ricer.
