Linda G. Kriegel, 83, of Grinnell and formerly of Brooklyn, died at the Mayflower Health Center in Grinnell on Jan. 20, 2018.

Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn with Fr. Corey Close officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with a scripture service at 7 p.m.

Linda Gae Guddendorf was born March 14, 1934, in Hayward, Wis., the daughter of John Peter Gunddendorf, Jr., and Hazel Irene Tinkle Guddendorf. She attended the Malcom schools and married Glen Joseph Kriegel on Nov. 19, 1954, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn. The couple farmed in the area for many years. Linda was a wife and mother who cherished her family. She spent time gardening and cooking, and also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, and ceramics. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn, and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Linda is survived by her children, Laura Blankenfeld, Karen Thompson, and Cheryl Burnham all of Grinnell, Mark of Brooklyn, Curtis of Hartwick, Kevin of Hartwick, Mindy Ward of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ginny Burkle of North Liberty; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marcella Moyer of Grinnell and Carol Owens of Chariton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glen Joe in 2015; an infant son, Stephen; and an infant granddaughter and four great-grandchildren.
