RITES FRIDAY

Delmar M. Kirby, 70, of Rte. 1, Wilmington, Ill., formerly of Grinnell, died Wednesday, June 12, at Hines Veterans Administration Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the veterans section of Hazelwood Cemetery, with military rites by the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial unit. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.

The son on Henry and Effie McGinn Kirby Gregson, he was born Aug. 25, 1914, in Grinnell and attended schools here. He served with the armed forces during World War II, after which he was employed as machinist at the Joliet, Ill. Munitions Plant and the Illinois Tool and Die Co. at Joliet.

He is survived by his sister, Mildred Otto of Brooklyn; a half-brother, Elvin E. Kirby of Bloomfield, N.M.; and a half-sister, Eula Kirby of Ottumwa.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond M. Kirby, and a half-sister, Eunice Sande.
