LYLE HENKLE

Lyle Henkle, 41, of Grinnell died suddenly Monday, June 16, in Montezuma.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with the Rev. John Epperson, pastor of the Grinnell Christian Church, officiating. Casket bearers were Mark Simmons, Steve Hall, Dennis Beyer, Dennis Bru, Bob Bru and Jeff Tindle. Honorary casket bearer was Thomas Henkle. Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma.

He was the son of William and Leila Hall Henkle and was born Feb. 21, 1956, in Oskaloosa. He was a 1974 graduate of Montezuma High School.

On Oct. 16, 1976, he was married to Deborah Fisher. The couple later divorced. He was married to Patty Burnham Jan. 31, 1992, in Grinnell. They lived in Montezuma until moving to Grinnell two years ago.

Mr. Henkle was employed by H&J Fertilizer in Montezuma.

Surviving are his wife; their children, Travis Henkle of Montezuma, Amanda Burnham of Grinnell, Tanya Henkle of Montezuma, Steven Henkle of Grinnell and Lane Henkle of Grinnell; his parents; one sister, Diana DeJong of New Sharon; and one brother, Mike of Montezuma.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A Lyle Henkle Memorial Fund has been established to be used for his children.
