ANNA E. MILLER, 79

Anna Elcina (Henry) Miller, 79, Marengo, a former resident of Hartwick, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at her home.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Presbyterian Church, Marengo. Chaplain Kim Vogel of Mercy of Cedar Rapids Hospice will officiate. Organist will be Deania Martens and soloist Bruce Volz. Special selections are "In the Garden" and "The Lord's Prayer." Flower attendants will be Billie Jo and John Henry and Ruth and Dean Johnson. Honorary casket bearers will be Ann Rhinehart; Mike, Cindy, Matt, Chris, and Zach Terode; Michelle Johnson; Amy Miller, Trenton Kuennen and Shari Johnson. Casket bearers will be Timothy Rhinehart, Jeffrey Johnson, Gary Miller, Michael Miller, Ronald Miller and Nicholas Miller. Interment will be in the Hartwick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn, from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. The family will be present to receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for Mercy of Cedar Rapids Hospice and Marengo Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Miller was born Jan. 13, 1923 in Bosworth, Mo., the daughter of George and Ida May (Kingsley) Henry. When she was 6, her family moved to a farm near Montezuma. She attended a rural school. At age 11, she joined Church of the Brethren, Brooklyn.

On April 15 1944, she married Elver Miller at Church of the Brethren. They lived and farmed near Hartwick. She also worked in the HLV lunchroom in Victor, and at Char-Du Mfg., Brooklyn. In 1988 she moved to Marengo. She belonged to Marengo Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Paul Franklin (& Dorothy) Miller of Norway and James Henry (& Jan) Miller of Blairstown; three daughters, Kathryn Ann (& Robert) Rhinehart of Eldridge, Effa Louise (& Terry) Johnson of Cedar Rapids and Carol Lea (& Russ) Blomme, Marengo; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Elisabeth Rhinehart, Margaret Farden and Nora Rhinehart; and two brothers, Ira Henry and George Henry.
