GERALDINE MCINTOSH

Geraldine McIntosh, 89, of 1628 Tenth Ave., Grinnell, died of cancer Friday, Aug. 31, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Grinnell United Church of Christ-Congregational, with the Rev. Robert Molsberry officiating. Organist was Alice Renaud, and vocalist was Keith Briggs. Casket bearers were her grandchildren, Michael and Amy Evans; Peter, Tyler and Erin McIntosh; and Stacia Kuhen.

A graveside service was conducted Monday afternoon at Fairview Cemetery in Earlville.

She was born Feb. 5, 1912, in Earlville to Fred and Elma Miller Parkin. She was a graduate of Earlville High School. She attended Iowa State University and taught at a rural school following her education.

She was married to John J. McIntosh Nov. 25, 1937, in Earlville. They lived in Earlville, Manchester and Cedar Rapids before moving to Grinnell in 1968.

Mrs. McIntosh, a homemaker, was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, Chapter JB of PEO, the Sunset Club and Phi Rho Lambda.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Schermerhorn of Okeechobee, Fla.; two sons, David of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Stephen of Palmdale, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Lyle and Clate Parkin.

Memorial contributions may be made to GrinnelL Regional Hospice or to her church.
