ROY PROVIN RITES HELD MONDAY AT VICTOR

Funeral services for Roy Provin were held at the McAninch chapel in Victor Monday afternoon, July 20, with the Rev. Herbert Foxworthy officiating.

Music was provided by organist Mrs. Edith Shaul. Flowers were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. George Norden and Mr. and Mrs. Leeman McWilliams.

Casket bearers were Oscar Cordes, Laverne Ranfeld, Virtus Cordes, John Ross, Wayne Baustian and Lawrence Pidima. Burial was at the Guernsey cemetery.

Mr. Provin, 79, died Friday morning, July 17, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

The son of Grant and Emma Provin, he was born Sept. 19, 1897.

On April 26, 1922, he was married to Frances Elizabeth Prashak of Guernsey. He retired from farming in 1966.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; two daughters, Mrs. Mardene Schultz of rural Grinnell and Mrs. Christene Wright of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters, Mrs. Mary Wells and Mrs. Anna Marie Aten, both of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Rauch of Thornburg and Mrs. Opal Morrison of Brooklyn; three brothers, Clarence and Walter of Victor and Elwood of Guernsey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clyde.
