Funeral services for Russell Wesley Provin were conducted by the Rev. Walter Williams at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, in the Steffy Funeral Home. Miss Alice Underwood was the organist.
Interment was at Jackson Township Cemetery. Casket bearers were Wendell Hardeman, Lester Beyer, Harold Williams, Ray Hildebrand, Preston Wickham and Wiley Van Ommen.
Mr. Provin, 62, passed away Thursday, May 8.
The son of Etta and Perry Provin, he was born in Poweshiek County on Sept. 22, 1906. He had been an invalid since stricken with polio when he was nine months old.
In 1959 his mother passed away and for several years his father maintained their home with the help of his sister. Since 1966 he and his father have been cared for at the Baird Custodial Home. His father died in 1968.
He is survived by an only sister, Lucille, and her husband, Pearley Freeborn.
