GRINNELL RESIDENT
FOR 89 YEARS

Mrs. Augusta J. Ahrens Mehlin, widow of Charles F. Mehlin, died at 3:55 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Ballenger nursing and boarding home at 1707 Seventh avenue. Mrs. Mehlin was 90 years old on her last birthday, Feb. 16, having been born in 1854 in Germany, the daughter of John and Henrietta Schultz Ahrens. She came to the United States with her parents when she was a year old and had made her home in this community for 89 years.

Funeral services will be held from the Smith Funeral Home at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with burial in Hazelwood cemetery.
