DIED.

WILLIAMS--In Grinnell, on Wednesday morning, Sept. 12, 1877, Mrs. Harriet Porter, wife of Henry W. Williams. Aged 44 years.

Her native place was Cleveland, Ohio, where her parents now reside. In 1852 she married Mr. Williams, and after a residence in Ohio of a few years, where they buried a little son, they moved to Grinnell in the spring of 1855. In May, 1855, Mrs. Williams united with the Congregational Church, of which her husband was already a member. As a Christian she was without reproach; as a neighbor she was always very highly esteemed; and in the relations of wife and mother she was all that could be desired. For several years her health had been poor, and about two years ago she sought help from the invigorating climate of Colorado. But her residence there failed of giving promise of recovery, and she decided to return while she had sufficient strength and die under the care of loved ones at home. She leaves two daughters, aged respectively 18 and 16, to mourn her loss. Her husband and children have assurance of warm sympathy from neighbors and friends, and they doubt not she has gone to join the society of the redeemed to be forever with the Lord.
