MRS. ANNIE WILLIAMS
89, DIED THURSDAY
IN CALEXICO, CALIF.

A letter from Willys A. Myers, American vice consul at Mexicali, Baja, California, Mexico, announced the death of his mother, Mrs. Annie Williams, formerly of 1010 High street, Grinnell, who passed away peacefully at 6:15 o'clock p.m. last Thursday, Jan. 11, after an illness of four days from heart failure. She was 89 years of age.

Funeral services will be held in the Snyder Brothers Chapel at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Chas. R. Rowe with interment in Hazelwood cemetery.

Mr. Myers is the only one of the immediate family surviving. A brother of Mrs. Williams, Riley B. Morris, lives at Van Wert, Iowa and Mrs. Abbie Hill, a daughter of Mr. Williams, resides in San Diego, Calif.

Mrs. Williams in the past has ben a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah lodges in Grinnell. For the past few years she has resided with Mr. Myers at Calexico, Calif., just across the border from Mexicali. For a number of years she resided with Willys in Vera Cruz, while he was in the American consulate there. She was born in Shelbyville, Ind., March 27, 1851.

Mr. Myers writes that it will be impossible for him to make the trip to Iowa at this time but feels that many of Mrs. Williams' old friends in Grinnell will wish to attend the funeral.
