MINNIE CLARKE

Minnie Clarke, 80, of Eldora died Saturday, March 25, at Eldora Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted March 29 at the Eldora United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Burial was in Eldora Cemetery, with the Biersborn Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.

She was the daughter of John and Kathryn Beninga Eckhoff and was born July 24, 1914, in Kanawa. She was raised and educated in Wellsburg and graduated from high school there.

She was married to Orville Walton Jan. 5, 1933, in Wellsburg. They lived in several communities before farming north of Whitten. Mr. Walton died in 1956.

On Aug. 4, 1960, she was married to Leonard Clarke in Buckingham. They lived on the same farm in Whitten until moving to Eldora in 1989.

Mrs. Clarke was a member of the Whitten Methodist Church and the Eldora United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Dennis Walton of Grinnell; one daughter, Norma Miler of Columbia, S.C.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Her husband died April 4.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; one son, Dale Walton; two sisters and two brothers.
