LEONARD CLARKE

Leonard Clarke, 75, of Eldora died Tuesday, April 4, at Eldora Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services were conducted April 8 at the Eldora United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Burial was in Eldora Cemetery.

The son of William H. and Mary Barron Clarke, he was born June 16, 1919, near Conrad. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, then returned to the family farm.

He was married to Minnie Walton Aug. 4, 1960, in Buckingham. They farmed north of Whitten until retiring to Eldora in 1989.

Mr. Clarke was a member of the Whitten Methodist Church and later, the Eldora United Methodist c
Church. He was also a member of the Conrad American Legion.

Surviving are two children, Dennis Walton of Grinnell and Norma Miler of Columbia, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and one sister, Hazel Weatherly of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and two sisters.
