BARBARA JEAN ADAMS

Barbara Jean Adams, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at St. John's Hospice.

Barbara was born July 9, 1930 in Danville, the daughter of Donovan and Aleen Mock Rigdon. She married Leonard Adams on February 14, 1970 in Chicago.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Wayne Rigdon.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard of Springfield; one son, Allen Diehm (companion, Linda Allen) of Springfield; one daughter, Frances (husband, Donald) Kelly of Summerfield; two step-daughters, Connie (husband, Bob) Paynter of Carey, NC and Donna (husband, Ivar) Azeris of Wheaton, IL; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue (husband, Ben) Truax of Edinburg; two brothers, Max (wife, Pat) Rigdon of Springfield, and James (wife, Janet) Rigdon of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following visitation.

Committal Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
