LEONARD DIEHM,
FORMER RESIDENT,
DIES IN ILLINOIS

A former resident, Leonard J. Diehm, 54, of DeKalb, Ill., died Jan. 19th at a hospital in Sycamore, Ill.

He was born Sept. 2nd, 1912, at Malcom, the son of Andrew and Clara Weber Diehm. He was married to Barbara Rigdon at Springfield, Ill., on Sept. 16th, 1950.

Mr. Diehm was associated with the DeKalb Agricultural Association at DeKalb for 25 years. Most of his time with the company was spent in construction work and he helped build nearly every DeKalb hybrid processing plant.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara; a daughter, Frances, and a son, Allen, both of the family home; his mother, Mrs. Clara Diehm of Grinnell; three brothers, Bert and Arthur, both of Grinnell and Fred of Newton; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Vanderveer of Grinnell, Mrs. Gussie Septer of Searsboro; and Mrs. Clara Foster of Malcom; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran church at DeKalb where services were held Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Rudolph Kemttainen officiating. Burial was today (Monday) at Camp Butler National Cemetery at Springfield, Ill., with military honors at graveside.
