RITES HELD FOR CHRISTOPHER ZOLL

Christopher D. Zoll, 19, of 1009 Chatterton St., Grinnell, died early Thursday morning at Grinnell General Hospital. He had been ill with muscular dystrophy since early in his life.

The Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Harry H. Linnenbrink officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers were Bobby Boyd, Dennis Boyd, Randy Boyd, Kevin Danaher, James Danaher, Jeff Thompson, Rodney Thompson, and Tommy Thompson. Burial was at the Brooklyn I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The scripture service was held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be left with the Smith Funeral Home.

The son of Donald and Betty Zoll, he was born June 14, 1958, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools until his health failed. When he was 10, he was honored as the Muscular Dystrophy Poster Child of the year by then Governor Harold Hughes.

Survivors include his parents, two brothers, Joseph W. and John Mark; two sisters, Therese L. and Mary Kay; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Walter of Grinnell and Francis Zoll of Waukon; and his great grandmother, Mrs. F.M. Walter of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Zoll.
