--Mr. John F. James, son of Mr. J.K. James of this city, died Saturday night at their farm, Jamestown, near Davenport, after an illness of about ten days. Mr. James was 44 years of age and leaves, of his own family, a widow and two children. He formerly resided in Grinnell and went to school here, but had been away twenty or more years on the farm in Scott county. He and another brother worked the farm while a third brother managed a coal mine on the property. Henry James, another brother, a journalist in San Francisco, passed through last night to attend the funeral, which takes place to-day at Davenport. Mr. J.K. James and Miss Julia were at the sick bed all last week.
