Mrs. G.W. Mart passed away at 3:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon at her home, 1008 Main street, after an illness of only a week. An attack of flu which it had been hoped would not result seriously, developed into pneumonia, which caused her death.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Snyder Bros. parlors conducted by Rev. E.M. Vittum. Interment was in Hazelwood. Pall bearers were F.E. Spaulding, E.H. Spaulding, Roy Terrell, C.K. Needham, Harry Fry and W.J. Nelson.

Mrs. Mart was a friendly woman. She had a smile and a kind word for her friends as she met them on the street or in the Strand theatre, in which she was actively interested. She was kindly and helpful and cheerful. Many friends mourn her loss and will miss her. Her husband, son and daughter have the deepest sympathy of all in their loss.

Mollie Lee Rose Mart was born in Canilton, Ind., Nov. 5, 1858 and moved to Shawneetown, Ill., and there grew to womanhood, with three brothers and one sister. Two brothers and several nieces and nephews are still living in Harrisburg, Ill.

Mollie L. Mart and G.W. Mart were united in marriage Oct. 30th, 1879, at Shawneetown, Ill., later moving to Henderson, Ky., where they lived many years. They moved to Grinnell in 1892.

She united with the Methodist Episcolpal church early in life. She was active for many years and still holds her membership.

She is survived by her husband and two children, Ethel M. Manly of Marshalltown and W.H. Mart of Grinnell.
