EVANEL R. TERRELL

CHICAGO. - Mrs. Evanel Renfrow Terrell, 86, died Tuesday at the Methodist Nursing Home after a long illness.

She was born in Red Wing, Minn.; and received a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and a master's degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. She was employed with Savannah State College for 27 years and served as a professor and department head in home economics at Florida A&M University, Lincoln University in Missouri and Tuskegee Institute in Alabama.

She was a member of the American Dietetics Association, the executive board of the Georgia Home Economics Association, and served as president of the Coastal Empire Dietetics Association. She was a member of First Congregational Church, where she was a deaconess and a former president of the women's fellowship. She was a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

Surviving are two sisters, Edith Smith and Alice Renfrow, both of Chicago; a nephew, Paul Lemme of Bethel, Conn.; and other relatives.

Funeral: 7 p.m. today at Bynes-Royall Funeral Home, burial at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, S.C.
