LEE AUGUSTUS RENFROW

Lee Augustus Renfrow departed this life Monday, April 16, 1945, after a prolonged illness (unreadable............) Delia and Perry Renfrow of Emporia, Kansas one of 13 children, nine of whom preceded him in death. He was born August 15, 1872 in Texas.

He spent his youth in Kansas and Illinois and came to Grinnell 35 years ago, where he made his home. He was well-known in this community, as a cook. In the year 1901 he was united in marriage to Eva P. Craig, and to this union six children were born.

He leaves to mourn his loss a widow, four daughters, Helen Lemme of Iowa City, Alice Renfrow of Washington, D.C., Evanel Renfrow of Chicago, Illinois, Edith Smith of Chicago, Illinois; two sons, Corporal Rudolph Renfrow of New York City and Master Sergeant Paul J. Renfrow who is overseas; three grandchildren, Lawrence and Paul Lemme of Iowa City and Virginia Smith of Chicago; three brothers, Will Renfrow of Minneapolis, Minnesota, David Renfrow of Salina, Kansas and Perry Renfrow of Chicago, Illinois.
