Doris Billick Estes

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 14, at the Smith Funeral Home, Grinnell, for Mrs. Doris Bilick Estes, 89, who died Wednesday, October 11, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center from complications of an accidental fall. Rev. Daniel I. Ogata, Grinnell, officiated. The pianist was Mrs. Alice Renaud. Casket-bearers were Donald Kriegel, Gary Kriegel, Roger Kriegel, Janet Plants, Cindy Schmidt, and Kathy Whitsell. Burial was at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom.

Doris Billick Estes, daughter of William W. and Addie Goodrich Billick, was born on August 11, 1911 in Malcom, Ia. Doris graduated from Malcom High School later attended the Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls and a beauty school in Des Moines.

In 1954, Doris was married to Walter N. Estes of Evanston, Il. The couple lived in Morton Grove, Il. for many years, where Doris operated a beauty shop. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Brooklyn, Ia. in 1985 and came to the Mayflower Home in Grinnell in 1994.

Surviving is one daughter, Jane A. Estes of Irving, Tx. Her husband; her parents; and three sisters, Xavie Silvers, Clio Cummings and Gladys Billick, preceded her in death.

Memorials may be directed to the Ivy Hill Cemetery Association in Malcom.

Smith Funeral Home, Grinnell, was in charge of the arrangements.
