RITES HELD FOR MR. REIMERS

Harley O. Reimers, 76, of Brooklyn died Friday, May 31, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Brown of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Malcom officiating. Organist was Sybil Kelley, and soloist was Ruth Smith. Pallbearers were Jack Lang, Jack Hall, Craig Hall, Lavern Lidtka, Verlin Ellis and Sonny Schneekloth. Honorary bearers were Arthur Keller, Virgil Lidtka, William Nagel Sr., Walter Beck, Stanley Ahrens and the Rev. L.J. Vogel. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

The son of Harry John and Rosy Ohland Reimers, he was born Feb. 22, 1909, in Stratford, Texas. He came to Poweshiek County with his parents and received his education in rural schools in Sheridan and Madison townships, graduating from Brooklyn High School in 1929.

He was married to Mildred McConnell in Grinnell. They farmed in Madison and Sheridan townships before moving to Brooklyn in 1970.

Mr. Reimers was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Marshalltown Weavers Guild. He was a former member of the Church Brotherhood and Eden League Club. He was a former chairman of the Madison Township Farm Bureau, a former 4-H leader, and a former director of the Malcom Co-op.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; three sons, Franklin and John of Malcom and Harry of Grinnell; two daughters, Elizabeth of Fremont, Calif., and Anna Twiselton of Lake Zurich, Ill.; one brother, Robert of Malcom; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
