HARRY REIMERS SERVICES HELD

Harry Reimers, 34, of Rte. 2, Grinnell, died Sunday morning, Nov. 10, at University Hospitals in Iowa City where he had been hospitalized for treatment of burns he suffered in a Sept. 25 fire at his home.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Grinnell Christian Church, with the Rev. Fred Zimmerman, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Grinnell, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner, and vocalist was Sherry Shults. Pallbearers were Daryl Hall, Mike Hudnutt Jr., Freddie Van Ersvelde, Adrian Versendaal, Arie Versendaal, Jerry Veldhuizen and Leon Wilson. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Harry Reimers Memorial Fund and left at the Smith Funeral Home.

He was born March 27, 1951, the son of Harley and Mildred McConnell Reimers. He attended rural school in Madison Township and graduated from B-G-M High School in 1969. He was a member of 4-H, the FFA and was active in school sports.

On Oct. 23, 1970, he was married to Janice Latcham. They lived in the Brooklyn and Grinnell areas.

Mr. Reimers was a member of the Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Department prior to moving to the Grinnell area. For the last 12 1/2 years he was associated with Farmhand, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Janice; one son, Chad; his mother, Mildred Reimers of Brooklyn; two brothers, Franklin and John of Malcom; and two sisters, Elizabeth Reimers of Fremont, Calif., and Anna Twiselton of Lake Zurich, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lance, who died in the Sept. 25 fire, and his father, Harley O. Reimers.
