VIRGIL RANFELD, 69

Virgil Roy Ranfeld, 69, of Deep River, Ia., died suddenly at his winter home in Leesburg, Fla., on Sunday, December 4, 1994.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 1994 at Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma. Rev. Michael Parris, Calvary Lutheran Church, Deep River, officiated the services. Mrs. Kathleen Ramsey was organist and Mr. Darrell Brand was soloist with music selections of "I Saw The Light" and "How Great Thou Art." Casket bearers were Dan Ranfeld, James Wilson, David Zimmerman, Shawn Ranfeld, Brian Harris and Larry Kitzman. Burial was in Golden Rod Cemetery, Deep River.

Virgil was born May 12, 1925 at Guernsey, Iowa, the son of Roy and Clara (Pexa) Ranfeld. On Sept. 9, 1945 he was united in marriage with Irene Holderness at the Highland Park Lutheran Church in Des Moines. They farmed near Deep River all of their married life and Virgil was also a seed dealer. He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Deep River.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Susan Irene.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Irene; one son and his wife, Richard and Diana Ranfeld of Deep River; two daughters and their husbands, Cynthia and John Wilson of Dysart, and Carolyn and Robert Harris, Oakdale, Minn.; nine grandchildren: Dan, Shawn and Kim Ranfeld, Micole, Kelly and James Wilson, and Brian, Cathy and Anne Harris; one sister, Marjorie Seibert of Oskaloosa; and other relatives and many friends.
