VINCENT VIRGIL SUCHY, 83

Vincent Virgil Suchy, of Brooklyn, died of a sudden illness, Saturday, December 29, 2001, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell.

Funeral services for Vincent were held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Hrabak's Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, Iowa. Don Drahos officiated. Casket bearers were Howard Heinen, Harlan Heinen, Kenneth Selk, Vince Novak, Willie Suchy, and David Wetzel. Interment was at National Cemetery, Vining, Iowa.

Vincent was born August 24, 1918, in rural Elberon, the son of Frank and Agnes (Novak) Suchy. He attended school in York Township #1. Vincent was a farmer, and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. His interests included hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his special friend, Mildred Heinen, Guernsey; nieces and nephews Richard Suchy, Elberon, Wilfred Suchy, Victor, Karen Suchy, Fairview Heights, Ill., DeLonde Suchy, Des Moines, Veronica and Dave Porter, Baxter, Dan and Verla Suchy, Elberon, and Agnes Myers, Chelsea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agnes (Novak) Suchy; and brothers, Emil Suchy, and Milo Suchy.

Hrabak's in Belle Plaine was in charge of arrangements.
