RUTH E. MILLS

Ruth Ellen Mills, 93, a native of Grinnell, died Jan. 19 at the home of her daughter, Miriam Mills Cousins, Evanston, Ill.

The body was cremated, and ashes were buried at Hazelwood Cemetery. The family will hold a memorial service here later in the spring.

The daughter of Elbertus D. and Mina M. Harris Forehand, she was born March 24, 1897, in Grinnell. She was a graduate of Grinnell High School.

Mrs. Mills had lived here nearly her entire life, except for a brief period shorty before and after her husband, Dr. R.T. Mills, died in 1951. She had lived with her daughter since September 1987.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational and for many years was active in Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter; two sons, Gene R. of Houston, Texas, and Kenneth R. of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
