ERNEST DOBBS
DIES IN IDAHO

Ernest Estel Dobbs, 47, of Rupert, Idaho, formerly of Grinnell, died Thursday afternoon, March 3, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Rupert.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Douglas R. Smiley of the Barnes City Community Church officiating.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Cunningham, Earl Dobbs, Paul Dobbs, Johnny Dobbs, Toby Godfrey, Jay Hansen, Larry Hansen, Roger Hansen and Scott Hansen.

Veterans rites will be conducted by members of Paul Ward Post No. 149 of the Gilman American Legion, with burial at Prairie View Cemetery there.

The son of Hubert Flynn and Dora May Wilson Dobbs, he was born July 16, 1935, at Iowa City. He was raised in the Grinnell area and attended Lynnville High School. He served with the U.S. Navy for four years and had worked as a barber in Rupert for the past five years.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Dobbs of Barnes City; a daughter, Debbie Wheeler of Tama; and seven brothers and sisters, Beulah Hansen of Marshalltown, Rosa Godfrey of Marshalltown, Mary Ann Cunningham of Union, Paul Dobbs of Fresno, Calif., Earl Dobbs of Hartford, Georgia Bowling of Gallatin, Tenn., and Johnny Dobbs of Barnes City.
