BERTHA MOLL

Bertha Moll, 83, of Grinnell died Monday, June 7, 2004 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service was held Thursday, June 10, at Hazelwood Cemetery with John Epperson, pastor of Grinnell Christian Church, officiating. Memorials may be made to Grinnell Regional Home Health.

She was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Grinnell, the daughter of Roe and Mabel Marshall Belcher. She was a graduate of Grinnell High School. She was married to Donald Lemke and to this union five sons were born, Donald, William, Albert, Earl and Gerald Lemke. She was employed at Grinnell Shoe Factory, St. Francis Hospital and Lone Elm Nursing Home. She and her husband were divorced in the early 1960s and she moved to Des Moines. She was married there to Marion Moll and was employed in nursing homes and at Medicenter for 25 years before returning to Grinnell in 1998 to be nearer her family. She resided at Brookside West and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by four sons, Donald of Crowley, Texas; William and Earl of Grinnell and Gerald of Bloomfield; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Albert; one brother James Belcher and two sisters, Nancy Lemke and Luvica Flathers.
