THOMAS BELCHER

Thomas "Tom" Belcher, 30, of Burlington, the grandson of William and Anna Belle Belcher of Grinnell, died at his home Oct. 28.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Place-Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with the Rev. Darryl Bockting officiating. Burial was in Prairie Grove Cemetery, rural Burlington.

Memorials in his name may be made to the D.A.R.E. program.

The son of William and Doris Dietsch Belcher, he was born Sept. 13, 1963, in Iowa City. He was a 1982 graduate of Burlington High School. He was employed as a forklift operator for Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Mount Pleasant.

Surviving are his parents, both of Burlington; his stepfather, David Inverarity of Burlington; his stepmother, Karon Belcher of Burlington; a brother, Les Belcher of Burlington; one sister, Elaine Belcher of Burlington; his paternal grandparents; and a half-sister, Wendy Inverarity of Burlington.
