STELLA L. JOHNSON, 77

Stella L. Johnson, 77, died Friday, October 20, 1995, at her home.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 23, 1995 at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Stella, the daughter of Christopher and Agnetta (Christianson) Iverson, was born October 30, 1917 near Grinnell. She graduated from Grinnell High School and was a county school teacher in Poweshiek County for several years. On June 6, 1942, she married Eldon E. Johnson at her parents' home near Grinnell. The couple farmed south of Malcom for many years. In 1971 they moved to a farm northeast of Barnes City and lived there until retiring and moving into Barnes City in 1981.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Eldon, in infancy, and her parents.

Stella is survived by her husband, Eldon, and their four children and their families: Erma and Norm Skadburg, Julie and Jill of Ames; Keith and Ann Johnson, Jenna and Brett, Rose Hill; Paul and Teri Johnson, Katy and Steven, Deep River; and Carla and Michael Shevokas of Urbandale; and a sister Esther Bennett of Laurel; two brothers: Lawrence Iverson of Grinnell and Arthur Iverson of Malcom and their families.

Memorials may be made to the Home Health Department or to Hospice, Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
