ARTHUR C. IVERSON

Arthur C. Iverson, 70, of Grinnell died Thursday, June 25, of injuries he suffered in a farm tractor accident Wednesday.

Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eldon Pals of Newton officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler, and soloist was Rhonda Minner. Pallbearers were Keith and Paul Johnson, Ron and Les Iverson, Daryl Bennett and Rick Peters. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of Christopher and Agnette Christens Iverson, he was born Sept. 9, 1922, on the family farm southeast of Grinnell. He attended Grant School No. 7 and was a 1945 graduate of Grinnell High School.

He was married to Marilyn Emmert Oct. 22, 1949, in Grinnell. They farmed in the Grinnell area, and he also was employed as a dealer for Archer Oil. He was a member of the Ewart United Presbyterian Church, the Poweshiek County Farm Bureau and an honorary member of the Montezuma FFA chapter.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Larry of Montezuma, Roger of Grinnell, Cheryl Waskow of Clarksville and Sandra Ross of Montezuma; one brother, Lawrence of Grinnell; one sister, Esther Bennett of Laurel; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Stella Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Future Farmers of America Scholarship Fund.
